EPI is committed to sound, ethical practices and environmental responsibility. Our high quality moissanite gemstones are created in a laboratory with minimal environmental impact. Each stone is marked with a unique engraved serial number. Our gold and silver metals are from a recycled origin. We individually craft each piece of jewelry and “make-to-order”. This means that there is zero waste from overproduction. Our pieces are thoughtfully designed and considered which makes them both timeless and durable. At EPI, we strive to create sustainable heirloom pieces that will last a lifetime.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To keep your moissanite gemstone sparkling and in beautiful condition, follow these care tips:
- Wash your moissanite ring in a solution of warm water and mild dish soap.
- Soak the ring for a few minutes, then use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub the stone and the setting.
- Rinse the ring thoroughly under warm running water to remove any soap residue. Dry the ring with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Clean your ring every few weeks or more often if it’s exposed to lotions, oils, or dirt.
A helpful tip is to apply lotions, perfumes, and hairspray before putting on your ring to reduce residue build up on your gemstone.
To reduce the potential for knocks against hard surfaces, remove your ring before physical activities such as heavy lifting or sports. To protect from scratches, when not in use, store your moissanite ring in its original box.
Please note that harsh chemicals and submersion in swimming pools and hot tubs is not good for your moissanite ring. Chlorine and household cleaners like bleach and ammonia can damage the metal setting and should be avoided.
EPI suggest having your ring professionally cleaned and inspected by a jeweler once per year to highlight any damage to prongs and ensure that your moissanite gemstone stays protected, shiny and safe.
MOISSANITE
Moissanite is a gemstone composed of silicon carbide (SiC), a compound similar to diamond in both strength and its ability to disperse light into a rainbow of colors.
Due to its brilliance, fire, durability and affordability, moissanite has become increasingly popular as a diamond alternative for engagement rings and fine jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, bracelets.
The natural form of moissanite is extremely rare which is why today, moissanite is created in a laboratory. It is remarkable, but science has been able to match and replicate the exact same chemical, physical, and optical properties as naturally grown moissanite!
Another benefit to lab grown moissanite, is that the gemstones are considered an ethical and sustainable alternative to mined stones. In other words, lab grown moissanite gemstones sparkle and shine brighter than a diamond yet are just as strong! Lab grown moissanite is kinder to our environment and way more affordable. This is why we love and celebrate moissanite at EPI.
By following our care instructions, you can ensure that your jewelry stays in beautiful, like-new condition for years to come. Remember, a little care goes a long way in preserving moissanite quality and sparkle.
